Um... Guess what, I'm still alive! XD

Well, I'm still stuck in the swamp called 'organizing cosplay contest'. Lotsa problems to face, almost every of them - alone. Not because there's nobody to help, but vecause I must do things by myself. Must admit, I enjoy organizing this contest. It was my dream, after all, to make something like that ar our festival. But oh my is this hard... What problems? Very few participants. Can't blame anyone for not willing to take part - it's a new thing, after all. I hope everyone will be more active at the next fest. Almost every participant is not sure, if he/she WILL participate. You know, 'my costume may not be ready, my friends might decide to quit...' I'm really sorry for everyone who cannot make it in time for the contest because of the stupid time table the orgs made. I so wanted to see everyone from Narva and Tallin in the contest... Still, I'm looking forward to the fest. Oh yes I do. Because I will definitely see many great cosplayers who won't participate, but will be there. And a lot of people I didn't have a chanse to see for ages. Festivals are great for meeting people.^^
Oh, and here's a cosplay meme thing I borrowed from xel_ko and I'm pretty sure there were a lot of LJ friends who filled it...

I finally received it. My oh-so-cool men hairstyle blond wig. Gorgeous piece. Immedeately decided to play a little. Not a real costume, just a little ghetto stuff... Behold the power of

I felt like doing something this night so I went and made myself a Turk uniform. O_O And because I had a blond wig, I called this an Elena cosplay. :D This is the most ridiculously cheap cosplay I've ever done - it cost me 1 dollar. For the zipper. Everything else was found in the closet. =3 *luffs closet*
I'm so close to Reno! XD

| Da picnic! |
[Aug. 27th, 2006|11:55 pm] |
Today I woke up and heard the sound of raindrops. Yup, heavy rain outside, though it was really sunny yesterday. "Life hates me" I thought, because today was the day we sceduled our Elegant Gothic Lolita picnic for. We planned to dress up as Gothic girls and Lolitas (do you know these two terms are different in Japanese fashion culture? Gothic means, well, gothic - black mostly, and Lolita is something sweet, pastel, pink, fluffy, white whatever) and go drink tea in the park, which in reality is an old German graveyard (beginning of 19th century, I guees). But rain... Well, nobody wants to be wet. But young jedi never gives up! So I thought we make a picnic at my place. I put some blankets on the floor, brought every sort of tea I could find and made sandwiches and a chocolate cake. Voila, the picnic is ready!
We were to meet near the station and go to my house. Goog god, I forgot how it feels to be stared at. >_< You know, in Germany it felt different somehow - first, I was too excited to bother, second, people look at you with interest and, well, kindness. Why do our local people whisper 'There goes a freak' behind your back? o_O Well. I don't care either way. :P
We had ten people in total (like it always happens, some decided they can't come at the latest moment) - me, kitcune_dark, Countess, Nastya, Himi-san and Kaya as Gothic lolitas, silentomen as Sweet lolita (yay for pink goodness!), tanuka and yuki_tigraw as Gothic aristocrats and Kitsune & surreal_edward as guests. :3 That was so much FUN! Thank you, guys, I'm so glad we had such a good time together!
So, we drank every kind of tea we could imagine (most popular being Earl Grey, Green Jasmine and Karkade), ate lots of cookies, candies, cake etc., played with my kitty Freya, watched Onmyouji the movie (making fun of almost every frase... Forgive us, mighty Seimei!^^), read fanfiction and made photos. Oh, and we had a big pan of hot chocolate! XD Yummy! We made lots of photos (my camera has 111, and that's not as much as the boys have...), but since I'm dead tired, I'll put them up later. Just a couple of them special for you. ^^
That's what we call YuYu power, meaning me (Yami Yuki) and my photosession "husband" WataYuki D Tigraw (we made a weird family story for some photos :D)

[Aug. 25th, 2006|10:59 am] |
Hey guys, long time no see... *shifty eyes* I somehow remembered I forgot to post the photos from Animagic... *sweatdrop* I posted them in my @diary and completely forgot about LJ.^^;;; Please forgive me - and here you go. http://yoko.fotoplenka.ru/album221915 These were put up by Yatesha and have both mine and her photos. There are some Russian language comments, which explain some stuff happening. :3 So I'll remind - on Friday I was dressed as Alabasta Nami and Selina and Yatesha as Suiseiseki and Suigintou respectively from Rozen Maiden; Saturday we had a RM group (me as Shinku), and on Sunday we were dead tired and thought we will never make it in thick, heavy doll costumes - so we changed - me back to Nami, Yatesha to her Calaveras (Sailor Moon) costume, and since Selina didn't have a spare costume, we made a sweet Loli girl out of her. ^__^ We had lots of fun, and I might even tell you a lot more, but no promices, since I'm so bad at keeping them... Sowwy. T_T
But hey, I'm also thinkung about returning to LJ - and making it my 'cosplay-only' related blog, so you won't have to read all the silly stuff happening in my head. XD I guess that will be good, mm? ^^
So, about cosplay. We're having our annual AnimeFest - Riga in November, and since I'm in the organizer's team, I willingly accepted the role of 'make-our-cosplay-people-in-order' girl. Basically that means I must make all cosplay people register for the festival and ask them to perform on big scene. Yup, everything that is a standart on the big conventions, we still need to create. And I'm the one to do it, since nobody gives a damn whatsoever. But I have some cool people helping me, and even though they are scared we might fail, I strongly believe in them. =) Oh yeah, did I mention we must make a 2 hour concert consisting of cosplay contest and a performance we are yet to make? So here, we're busy people now. =)
About my future costumes. Thanks to Yatesha and Selina I opened a huge colourful world of Final Fantasy for me. (I'm slow, don't even start...) I tried FF X and FF X-2 (of course, I could not finish since I returned home, but I'm now saving up for Sony PS 2, so I can do that) So, when I was back, I went straight to my friend's house, demanding something to play with. Since she's a huge gamer, she gave me Final Fantasy VII. Guys, I bet you know, what's happening with me right now. XD I sleep near computer, I fight monsters, I cry when something sad happens in the game, though I know how it will end since I watched FF Advent children. And OF COURSE, my cosplay list is now ten times longer, thank you. So here we go:
- Yuna Songstress. Me and the girls want to participate in the next Animagic group cosplay contest, and they asked me to do Yuna. I agreed! XD
- Yuna Gunner. We need a Songstress version for the skit, but I'm in love with the Gunner version, so Gunner it is. :3
- Sephiroth. Yeeeeaah. After I saw a Ryuusei perfomance at Animagic (it's a German group that makes dances and performances), I believed I can do it. They had a wonderful actress, who was Sephiroth, and oh boy did she do her job good! Fellow cosplayers from Estonia want to make a group of FFVII next year, so I bumped in asking to play my favourite villain! XD (And in fact I like him not because he's evil. His fait is just so.. cruel.. Awww, I would hug him if I dared.)
- I'm seriosly considering a possibility of making Reno's costume. I mean, the guy rocks! I never thought they changed his character for Advent Children THAT much. He's so much different in the game. Okay, not much, but still. The only thing that bugs me is a 'small-coslpay-community-syndrome'. Here's the problem - some people want to cosplay a character they like (I mean REALLY like), and tell that to everyone. They might never end up making the costume, but who cares? So, if somebody else wants to make the same costume, there's a problem: "That's MY character, you can't do that!" I DON"T want to say everyone like that, no. But I had TWO incidents in the past, one of them ending up a total quarrel and misunderstanding with a girl. That's why I'm scared like hell when I know something like that might happen again. We do have a sweet girl in our community, who's head over heels with Reno. She even has the same hairstyle and stuff. And yes, she's making his cosplay for the Festival. Please tell me I'm stupid. I'm just so scared of hurting anyone's feelings again. >_< Talk about hundreds of Reno's or Chii's or whatever at every convention...
I guess I'll try to finish the damn Rei-plugsuit project which I had for a year, maybe. Sniff, my poor unfinished Pharaoh costume, I'm sorry, sweetie, cheer up... Maybe you'll make it to the next Animagic.. I hope. o_o
Gyaaah, feels great to type all this stuff! XD Sorry fot da long post, I just needed to spill everything out. Sankyuu for reading my LJ, guys, I luv ya all. Till next time!~~ |
